Small Voices Policy Statement
The purpose of the Small Voices
Exhibition Website is to aid in the building of self esteem of the
young people the Calderdale Youth Offending Team work with. It is
also intended to demonstrate that people do listen to what they
have to say. It is our hope that this will promote a greater understanding
of the issues surrounding youth, crime and our society.
By its very nature it is likely
that some of the work displayed will be controversial. Views expressed
are not necessarily the views of the Youth Offending Team. The Youth
Offending Team does reserve the right to refuse publication of any
material it deems to be blatantly offensive, racist or which advocates
that crime is a good thing.
Swear words and bad language will
be allowed (although not condoned) as long as it is in context and
is appropriate to the piece. Swearing for the sake of swearing is
not allowed.
All young people must give their
consent in writing for any of their work to be displayed here. Copyright
of the work remains with the individual author/artist but they must
have consented for it to be used for educational purposes. Copyright
of the site itself belongs to the Calderdale Youth Offending Team
and individual contributors.
The policy regarding identification
of our young people by name and or photograph is currently under
review. Currently young people will not be identified by name or
photograph despite their having given written consent. This is due
to the need to balance the need to protect the young person with
the need to acknowledge good work.
If you have any comments or questions
regarding our policy, or any other matter please contact
