DRAMA
The Youth Offending Team have been
working closely with various drama groups throughout Calderdale
including Calderdale
College, Square
Chapel Centre for the Arts and the Actor's
Workshop in order to enable our young people to participate
in the world of theatre.
Our first public performances were
held in March 2005, with a piece of drama entitled Shepherds Pie
Smells Different Now. The themes of Shepherds Pie were restorative
justice and bullying. It was written and performed by students from
Calderdale College using material provided by our young people.
Read more about "Shepherds Pie".
Building on the success of our first
venture, "Caught in a Story" is a
project, performed in September 2005. This time the drama
was written and performed entirely by our young people. Caught
in a Story is about the personal experiences of our young people.
We expect audiences will learn a great deal about the forces that
shape people' lives, for better or worse. The students from Calderdale
College are on hand again but this time in the role of teachers
not performers.
This gallery shows our young people
working on the project at the Square Chapel Centre for the Arts,
Halifax.

the group of Drama students from Calderdale College,

They were instrumental in creating our last production,"Shepherd's
